Picasso said 'Painting is not made to decorate'. I ponder this as I look at the bare white walls of our unfinished home. Great art has the potential to be transcending. It can gift us a transient moment when we are lifted above the ordinary and feel connected to something bigger. It can still a sense of awe and make time stop, be it for an instance. Indeed, why settle for one that merely decorates.
 

Art Makes A Room is my pursuit of transcendent art.  It builds on my studies in design to explore the many ways that we may bring that experience to the spaces which we exist in. And it is a record of my own becoming of an artist who aspires to make that kind of art, creatively and intellectually.
